Mission statement
The Counseling Center provides services that facilitate the growth of individuals, directly and indirectly, through counseling, assessment, education and consultation.

Philosophy
The philosophy of the center is based on a positive approach to individual growth. Our primary emphasis is on the development of the person through self-knowledge (self-exploration and understanding) and positive change. We find that enhanced self-knowledge leads to increased personal satisfaction, improved interpersonal relationships and greater academic and vocational success. Our goal is to contribute to the optimal potential of each student and help the student achieve maximum benefit from the Columbus State University experience.
